Hi there!

Welcome to my somewhat-brand-new "pepoluan's Notes" blog!

Why 'somewhat' there? Because I used to have a blog of the same name on Wordpress ... but I figure out I want to delve into the wonderful world of static website.

For this purpose, I'm going to use the open-source Nikola static website generator.

However, even though out-of-the-box Nikola supports reStructuredText (RST), I will NOT be writing the site in RST.

Rather, I'll write only this post in RST, while I'll use Markdown for the rest of the site. The reason being RST has its own idiosyncracies — not fixed since 2102!! — that I find to be a dealbreaker.

I still write this welcome post in RST, though, to activate Nikola's "built-in shortcodes"

Okay, enough for me blabbering about Markdown-vs-RST.
